Trans Lab for Qualitative Research

The Trans Lab for Qualitative Research (T-Lab) is an interdisciplinary research lab that supports the production of affirming, intersectional, anti-oppressive, and trans-competent qualitative research with Two-Spirit, transgender, non-binary, and gender diverse (2TNG) people.

Trans Lab has four primary goals:

1.     To foster and support the creation of qualitative trans-led, community-centred, social justice-based research with 2TNG people.

2.     To make qualitative research accessible and useful through comprehensive knowledge mobilization, as well as the digital archiving of 2TNG stories and experiences.

3.     To connect 2TNG students, post-docs, and researchers with 2TNG organizations and faculty for mentorship, supervision, and collaboration.

4.     To contribute to the production of affirming policies, the acquisition and maintenance of human rights, and advocacy for 2TNG people through qualitative research.
